Core to Cloud Partners with The ITSA Digital Trust to Empower Digital Inclusion and Support Sustainable Technology

At Core to Cloud, we’ve always believed that technology should make a positive difference by protecting people, enabling innovation, and building a more inclusive world.
That belief is what makes our new partnership with ITSA Digital Trust so important. Together, we’re ensuring that technology continues to empower long after its first use.

Who Is The ITSA Digital Trust?

The ITSA Digital Trust is a registered charity based in Cheltenham that’s tackling one of the most pressing challenges of our time: the digital divide.

Every year, thousands of people in the UK and Africa are excluded from education, employment, and opportunity simply because they don’t have access to reliable technology. ITSA exists to change that.

Through its refurbishment and redistribution programmes, ITSA collects working IT equipment from businesses and individuals, including laptops, desktops, monitors, and accessories, and gives each item a new life. Every device is professionally data-wiped using certified erasure software to ensure complete security. It is then repaired, tested, and refurbished to meet high standards of quality and reliability. Once restored, the equipment is donated to schools, charities, and community projects across the UK and in several African nations, helping to provide vital access to technology for those who need it most.

These refurbished devices allow children to access online learning resources, help adults gain digital skills for employment, and support community-led initiatives that rely on connectivity and education.

The impact of ITSA extends far beyond the technology it provides. At its core, ITSA’s work is about empowerment by making digital access possible for individuals and communities who might otherwise be excluded. The charity helps people gain confidence, build new skills, and open doors to opportunity. In doing so, ITSA is helping to create stronger, more connected, and more resilient communities both in the UK and across Africa.

They’re also deeply committed to sustainability. By extending the life of existing technology, ITSA helps reduce e-waste and lower the environmental footprint of the IT industry. Every donated laptop or desktop keeps valuable materials out of landfill and helps create a circular, more sustainable technology lifecycle.

Why Core to Cloud Chose to Partner with ITSA

As a cybersecurity managed services provider, Core to Cloud has a responsibility that extends beyond protecting systems and data – it’s also about how we use technology responsibly. When we learned about ITSA’s work, their mission immediately resonated with our values. Their approach to secure data handling, ethical reuse, and measurable social impact aligns perfectly with the principles we uphold every day.

Our team understands how powerful technology can be when it’s used for good. Yet we also know that too many people still don’t have access to the digital tools they need to learn, connect, or thrive. That’s why this partnership matters so much to us as it’s an opportunity to bridge that gap and use our resources to make a tangible difference.

“At Core to Cloud, we believe that technology should empower and protect – and this partnership allows us to do both,” said Phil Howe, Chief Technology Officer at Core to Cloud. “Working with ITSA means we can give our retired equipment a second life, enabling access to education, skills, and opportunity for people who might otherwise be left behind. It’s a fantastic example of how secure, responsible technology practices can have a real-world, human impact.”

The Importance of Giving Back

For Core to Cloud, giving back is an essential part of who we are. We’re a business built on trust, collaboration, and doing the right thing not just for our clients, but for our wider community and environment.

Partnering with ITSA allows Core to Cloud to make a meaningful contribution to both people and the planet. Through this collaboration, we are able to donate decommissioned IT equipment from across our organisation in a secure and ethical way, ensuring that every device is handled responsibly and repurposed for good use.

The partnership also supports our commitment to environmental sustainability, helping us to reduce e-waste and extend the life of valuable resources that might otherwise go unused. By doing so, we contribute to a more circular technology economy – one that values reuse and responsible innovation.

Just as importantly, this initiative helps empower education and social mobility by providing access to technology for those who need it most. Laptops and computers that once served our business can now support students, educators, and communities, enabling learning and opportunity through digital access.

Finally, the partnership encourages our team to take part in volunteering and community engagement, giving everyone at Core to Cloud the chance to play an active role in creating social value and positive change.

We see this partnership as a lasting way to make a difference by transforming unused technology into tools that enable learning, opportunity, and inclusion for people everywhere.

Building a Better Digital Future

Together, Core to Cloud and ITSA are demonstrating that cybersecurity and sustainability can truly work hand in hand. By uniting ITSA’s expertise in digital inclusion with Core to Cloud’s commitment to responsible and ethical technology, we are helping to build a future where access to technology is not a privilege reserved for a few, but a shared right for everyone.

This partnership reflects a shared belief that technology, when used responsibly, has the power to transform lives and communities around the world. Through collaboration, innovation, and a focus on doing what’s right, we can make a lasting difference ensuring that technology continues to empower, protect, and connect people everywhere.
