Future Academies’ IT function supports 11 schools and a head office, managing the technology, infrastructure and security needed to keep essential education services running. Following a major centralisation programme and the migration of data, files and content into Microsoft 365, the Trust wanted greater confidence that its cloud environment was configured securely. While Microsoft Secure Score provided a useful starting point, the team needed clearer guidance to identify configuration gaps, understand the impact of each recommendation and prioritise improvements safely.
Working with Core to Cloud, Future Academies implemented Inside Agent to gain a more detailed and measurable view of its Microsoft 365 security posture. The platform helped the team identify quick wins, apply changes with step-by-step guidance and monitor settings, patching and device visibility across its environment. Within two weeks, Future Academies increased its Secure Score from 38% to around 62%, before later reaching 81%. The result is stronger visibility, clearer evidence of progress for senior leadership and a more practical way to maintain and improve Microsoft 365 security over time.
