His unprecedented five-year investigation alongside the Russian MVD (national police) resulted in the capture and imprisonment of organized crime members who were the prominent leaders of a DDoS and extortion gang. Joseph Menn documented his work in Russia in the acclaimed and best-seller nonfiction book Fatal System Error (2010).
